About
The Mission
We do this through the purposeful stewardship of our resources, public worship of God including preaching of the Gospel according to the Scriptures, outreach and evangelism to our community and beyond, meaningful and deepening relationships within the fellowship, and intentional spiritual growth.
The Vision
By pursuing peace, justice, and mercy so that Lynn, the North Shore, and beyond will know and experience the saving and transformative love of the one true God.
What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.
We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His substitutionary and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His current intercession for the saints, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith alone.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is sanctified and enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both believers and nonbelievers; they who are saved unto the resurrection of life and they who are lost unto the resurrection of judgement.
We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Senior Pastor
Kevin became the senior pastor in 2004 after being a pastor in Wales for 18 years. His interests include reading and church history. He is the author of the book and documentary “A Diary of Revival: The Outbreak of the 1904 Welsh Awakening” (2003), and he was also involved in “Welsh Awakenings: The Story of God’s Work in Wales” (2023), a new documentary on Welsh revivals.

Associate Pastor of Youth, Children, & Outreach
Brian’s heart’s desire is to “seek the kingdom of God above all else” (Matthew 6:33) and to “do everything in love” (1 Corinthians 16:14). He feels his calling in life is to be a father to the fatherless, and he is passionate about shepherding young people to the heart of God. Brian and his wife, Rachel, have 5 young children and live in Lynn. His hobbies include fitness and nutrition, basketball, and punk rock music. Brian began serving at EBC in November of 2010.

Director of Music & Media
Jetta was born in California and moved to the Boston area to study at Berklee College of Music. Here on the North Shore she discovered her passion for worship leadership and music direction. Jetta plays piano, flute, guitar, and organ, and is also a vocalist. At East Baptist she brings a dynamic and thoughtful approach to worship, blending classic hymns with current music through a variety of instrumental arrangements. Outside of church she enjoys time with her two daughters. Jetta has served as director of music and media since October of 2024.

Office Administrator & Treasurer
Sandra — or “Sandy,” as she is known — has attended East Baptist Church for over thirty years. She currently serves as Church Treasurer, Office Administrator, and a member of the Leadership Board. Sandy began her journey of service over fifty years ago, teaching children’s Sunday School while she was still in high school herself. In her spare time she enjoys designing homemade greeting cards, as well as walks on the beach to search for sea glass.

Elder
Fred is a long-time member of EBC and — apart from his current role as elder — has also served as chair of the leadership board, member of the worship team, and as a member of the global missions team. Fred is the principal of Lynn Vocational Technical Institute. His wife, Joan, and son, Fred Jr., are also teachers for the Lynn public school system.

Elder
Jim has attended East Baptist for about 15 years. He has served in many roles in the church, from Elder to Stewardship Focus Leader, to “Mr. Fix-it.” What drew Jim to the church was its international flavor, committed membership, and its growing focus on outreach in our community and around the world.
